The vote is in

We ran our first informal poll this weekend, asking subscribers who they thought was best placed to replace incumbent Kemi Badenoch. The clear leader at the moment is Labour’s Issy Waite who has received 58% of the vote. The Liberal’s Smita Rajesh is in second place with 28% and the third place goes to the Green’s Edward Gildea on 13%. The other Independent candidates scored less than 1% together.

What is clear is that the combined progressive vote in NW Essex is over 50%. If the electorate (and parties) could all agree to vote together for a single candidate they would have an unassailable lead which would see the conservatives easily defeated.
